May 2018 Newsletter
Every so often we like to give our loyal followers a round-up of things that have been happening or are going to happen, at Langley Castle. So far this year there has been a significant change in personnel, decorative upgrades, exciting events planned, and the Castle is still retaining its medieval authenticity, whilst embracing the future.  Read on to find out more...
As many of our regular visitors will know, Langley has a long history of retaining its staff - something which is very rare in the hotel industry.  Whether they stay without leaving, or leave for a while and return because they miss the Langley 'family' it is this commitment which has made the Castle the wonderful and welcoming place it is today.

One such person is Carla Robinson who has, as many of you will know, held various positions within the business since the young age of 13.  After a recent short spell away to further improve her managerial skills, she returned to Langley Castle to take on the position of General Manager.
We all feel sure Carla will be at the helm for many years to come, and will continue to give her all to Langley.
In a world of ever-changing trends, you would be forgiven for thinking that a Castle might struggle to keep up with the modern world - not so at Langley! We have recently given our function room, the Stuart Suite, a makeover, which has allowed lots of natural light to flood the room. The neutral paint tones are perfect for couples who want to express themselves and to show off their chosen theme. This might be shabby chic, industrial, or our very popular Game of Thrones inspired weddings. The possibilities are endless and only limited by your imagination.

To make things even better, we have also put together some amazing 'Exclusive Use' packages which allow our happy couples to take over the Castle from Midday on the day of their wedding until 11.00 a.m. the following morning.  Our intimate mid-week 'Exclusive Use' packages start from only £7000 - it's no wonder they are proving so popular.

With over 30 years experience in doing things how you want them, we can take your wedding day vision and shape it into a stunning ceremony and equally amazing 'aftershow'.
Northumberland Day is an initiative which was launched and championed by Langley Castle Hotel, and which was realised thanks to the support of passionate Northumbrians, from all walks of life, who helped bring it to fruition. Its ethos is to generate pride in everything Northumbrian, past and present, from culture, heritage and arts and crafts, to food and drink, landscape and sporting and community life.

Carla was recently invited along to Grace Darling's lighthouse to help formally launch Northumberland Day 2018, along with other passionate Northumbrians.
To celebrate, Langley Castle is once again holding a fabulous free to attend event on Saturday 26th May 2018.  There will be historical re-enactments, falconry displays, arts, crafts, a wild west tent, guided battlement tours, Northumbrian small pipes, planting activities, food and drink stalls and a steel pan band playing throughout the day.

Following on from last year's reveal of the World's Biggest Stottie, Langley will be staging another 'foodie' reveal for 2018 - don't miss it!  There will also be a raffle on the day, with all proceeds going to the Great North Air Ambulance.  The winner will receive an overnight stay, with breakfast and dinner included.  This will be a fantastic event, and a great day out.  We hope to see you there.

One of the biggest challenges of running a medieval Castle as a hotel is remaining relevant and embracing change.  Technology, without question, is one of the fastest growing sectors and we are going to great lengths to ensure that Langley Castle is able to offer the very latest advancements.  One such growth is that of Electric and Hybrid cars.

We have recently installed Tesla chargers and a universal electric charging point at Langley.  This makes us one of only two locations in the whole of Northumberland to offer such a service, making us the perfect destination for anyone looking to explore the magnificent Northumbrian countryside, whilst also doing our bit to promote Green Tourism, something which we are very passionate about.
Be sure to keep an eye out for future newsletters and offers - there are many more exciting events being planned and some more big news to come!!

We hope to see you all soon!
